DISASTERS WORSENING AMID THE HOUSING CRISIS

Amid a nationwide affordable housing crisis, millions of people’s homes are also being threatened by floods and wildfires. There is an urgent call to develop a national adaptation strategy in response to the increasingly severe impacts of climate change, with a comprehensive approach to address these challenges.

 

The Climate Institute of Canada emphasizes that adaptation measures should be based on the best available science and incorporate input from diverse stakeholders. They also stress the importance of collaboration between different levels of government, Indigenous communities, and the private sector in implementing effective adaptation strategies.
